Only four copies of fifteen signed Lovecraft issues of Cosmic Horror Monthly remain. After that, they are gone and no more will be signed. Lovecraft often spoke of New Orleans and I’m sure he would be thrilled at this issue of CHM if he were alive today.

Wicked Horror Show Welcomes Indie Filmmaker Mike Lyddon
Independent horror – science fiction Filmmaker Mike Lyddon is a guest on the WICKED HORROR SHOW podcast with hosts Tony and Kevin. They talk about Lyddon’s latest feature length horror anthology movie WITCH TALES, his last film FIRST MAN ON MARS which was shot in and around New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, and his new endeavor, a pre-code horror comics doc titled HAUNTED THRILLS about many of the artists and publishers of sci-fi, horror and crimes comics of the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Also, we discuss THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON and the enormously popular COSMIC HORROR sub-genre in both print and movies. Fans of H.P. Lovecraft will find this of particular interest.
Question: Was THE BLOB the first film made about Cosmic Horror?
First Man in Mars: The countdown to terror has begun. Astronaut Eli Cologne became the first man on Mars, but something went horribly wrong. Infected by an alien organism, he lands back on Earth during Hurricane Katrina as a savage monster with an unquenchable thirst for human flesh. First Man on Mars Trailer is presented in the show.
Witch Tales: A Halloween Horror Anthology movie featuring an “enchanting” girl next door who wants to invite you in for a treat….or a TRICK. Witch Tales is Lyddon’s latest feature with three gruesome tales of terror presented by a seductive witch while she concocts a very special brew during Halloween eve. The English version trailer of Witch Tales is presented in the show.
Lyddon is an award-winning writer, producer, director and special makeup effects artist known for the films Cut Up (1994), Zombie! vs. Mardi Gras (1999), Horror Anthology Movie Vol. 1 (2013) and Vol. 2 (2014) and First Man on Mars (2016). Short films include The Cordyceps Principle (2013), Thing in the Shed (2013), Footage Found Arabi (2013) and By the Hair of the Head (2014). He also filmed over 100 live indigenous and traditional music videos in South America for HowlingEarth.Com.

WITCHTOBER in New Orleans Halloween HORROR MOVIES
Nola Movie Guide is getting into the spirit this Halloween by celebrating WITCHTOBER all month long!
The folks at RPLLC have several scary specials this month on a variety of horror anthology films just right for the spooky season.
Horror Anthology Movie Vol. 1 is an epic anthology clocking in at 117 minutes and featuring six original tales of horror ranging from science fiction to the supernatural. It stars Ben Matheny who appears in the H.P. Lovecraft inspired short “Footage Found, Arabi.” Matheny is a New Orleans based actor who has had roles in American Horror Story, Scream Queens, and a variety of feature films. Most of the segments were shot in and around New Orleans, the Gulf Coast, and even one story was made in New York!
Horror Anthology Movie Vol. 2 brings both classic and modern horror stories to life with four tales based upon stories by Edgar Allan Poe, Joe R. Lansdale, Edgar Allan Poe, Jeff Strand, and Lafcadio Hearn who apart from being a great writer, was also a famous chef in New Orleans. Catherine Ashton stars in the segment called “Of a Promise Broken” that was shot in the Nola French Quarter. She was the child star in the 1992 film starring Julian Sands called “Tale of a Vampire,” apparently based upon the story “Annabel Lee” by Poe.
Witch Tales (2020) is the latest indie feature horror film from Mike Lyddon and RPLLC. After making several feature films in and around New Orleans for many years, Mike moved to Peru and filmed Witch Tales over a one year period. The plot revolves around a sexy and beguiling witch who introduces the horror stories while concocting a very special Halloween potion. The stories are based upon classic EC style pre-code horror comic book stories in the vein of Tales from the Crypt. The film stars Mayella Lloclla as The Witch. Mayella is a noted Peruvian TV and Film actress who has appeared in many films and TV series. Witch Tales is also the first anthology film ever produced in two languages: English and Spanish, both of which are on the limited edition signed blu-ray.
